Capulin Volcano National Monument

I've never been to Capulin Volcano National Monument.

This is located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico. There are trails to follow that will allow you to see inside the extinct volcano. The lower trail is only about .2 miles and allows you to go inside a vent to see inside the volcano. The longer upper trail winds one mile around the crater rim. You can see evidence of the eruptions throughout the volcanic hills by the lava rock located on the hills and mesas. The trails are self guided and fairly easy to hike.

That I'd like to see.

Direct Buy

I've never been to Direct Buy.

My parents did go up a few weeks ago to check out an area directbuy. My mom is looking at new flooring. She has had white carpet for the last several years, maybe even ten. But now that she has young grandkids that live with her, I think the white carpet is not surviving so well. She is looking into getting tile throughout the house. Using Direct Buy could help her save a bundle of money.

San Jacinto College Theater Auditions

I've never been to San Jacinto College for theater auditions before.

Tonight my daughter went to try out for The Sound of Music. She had lots of fun and it was good for her to audition at a place other than where she has been doing most of her acting. We won't know til later this week if she gets in or not. Perhaps not, as her size seems to be right in between what he is looking for...but she had a good experience. She did get held with the second group to sing, so that was good. It would be pretty exciting if she did get cast....

Tungurahua Volcano

I've never been to Tungurahua volcano.

I was surprised to see the article today telling about Tungurahua erupting today. We have been reading about volcanoes and to see this article telling how the Ecuadorian volcano has been active since early this year and today was recorded spewing ash and rock was a big surprise. Thankfully earlier this week volcanologists warned villagers to evacuate. Today's eruption sent ash and steam about a mile and a half into the sky.

Unusual Weddings

I've never been to an usual wedding.

I have been to a few outdoors, but that is about as exotic a wedding I've ever attended. I know these days folks are stretching their imaginations when it comes to unusual weddings. Maybe a wedding in a castle, or on a hill top or at a baseball field is for some folks. I've even heard of couples getting married while bungee jumping! (I guess the bride wasn't holding any wedding flowers during that one!) Maybe a hot air balloon wedding, or a sky diving wedding, or even a scuba diving wedding could be just the thing to set your wedding apart from everyone elses.

Brighton Wolves

I had never been to an international high school basketball game before.

Earlier this week, my son had a basketball game in the town in which we used to live. My niece came out to see him. She told us of an event that was taking place right after my son's game. The junior varsity team of her high school was playing an Australian team. This team, the Brighton Wolves, were touring the US. I had not heard of this team before, so I looked them up and found their website . They are on tour this month to California and Texas. What an awesome opportunity for these young athelets. And it was pretty cool to see the attitude the hosting school had towards them as well.

Joshua Bell

I've never been to see Joshua Bell play.

Actually, I had never heard of Joshua Bell until last week. My husband did a lesson at church about how we often miss Jesus, even though he is right in front of us. He used a story about world famous violinist Joshua Bell. He apparently dressed incognito and played his violin in a Washington D.C. subway. The story is told how many people walked past, never noticing the man they would normally have to pay hundreds of dollars to see and hear perform. You can easily see the analogy drawn from this story.

After never having heard of Joshua Bell, I have heard about him three times over the course of this last week. I see his site has his tour schedule up. I will have to see if there is a performance in my area.
