I had never been to the paperback exchange area of our library before.
I was pleasantly surprised to find two books to bring home to check out. I was told that you can keep the books as long as you want or even bring in some others in return. I am sure I will be visiting this area again.

wedding favors
I've never been to buy wedding favors.
We didn't really give any. And we made our own confetti. It seems now days though that folks purchase much more than just invitations when preparing for a wedding. There are flowers, decorations and accents, and even favors for the guests. These can be ordered in store or online. Or maybe some even still prefer to hand make their own.

The Melting Pot
I've never been to The Melting Pot.
This restaurant is the place to go for those who love to dip! You apparently get several courses, all which involve dipping small chunks of food into a fondue. All this for $100. I am not sure we could go for that. One day we may have to give it a try. It does sound intriguing. But for $100…I'm not sure. I hear it's pretty good though!

Emergency Assistance on the Go
I've never been in need of Emergency Assistance while traveling.
That is a blessing. But who knows if I will ever be in need of it? I just learned that Good Sam offers an emergency medical assistance plan. The plan ranges from $89-$109. It is good for emergency assistance while at home or traveling. This is more than travel insurance, it is peace of mind. You can receive real assistance during an emergency, even if you are traveling in a foreign country. I have not looked into all the details, but it sure might be worth checking out. Some of the things included in the plan are: Medical Evacuation, Return of Traveling Companion Assistance, Unlimited Cash Advance Assistance, Prescription Replacement Assistance, Embassy and Consular Services, Language Interpretation Assistance and Return of Dependent Children Assistance.

Houston Ironman
I've never been to an Ironman race.
Not a full length one. I have watched many on tv, but now Houston is getting a full fledged Ironman! Registration started yesterday (and likely filled up the same day) for Houston's first full length Ironman. It will be held Saturday (!) May 21, 2011, in the Woodlands. The race will be a 2.4 mile swim / 112 mile bike / 26.2 mile run. I am happy to hear that it is on a Saturday. I sure hope they keep it that way for the years to come. My husband has long wanted to do an Ironman and has looked for a Saturday race. He won't be ready by May, but maybe in another year or two…

I came across this website and found they carry way more than office furniture! They have a large selection of furniture for office and educational needs. You can find a little bit of everything here. There are cafeteria tables, lab furniture, library furniture, drafting tables, kid tables, back pack racks, risers, and lots of other office and educational furniture. I also saw many of the items offer free shipping. Looks like a great one stop shopping site.

University of Texas Volleyball Camp
I've never been to the University of Texas Volleyball Camp.
My daughter is signed up to go in ten days. But it looks like it may not work out for her to go after all. She has been looking forward to this camp since Christmas, even spending all of her Christmas money on it. But she has sprained her elbow and still is not feeling good. The doctor has ordered more x-rays. I hate for her to miss it, but we know it is for the best in the long run. Better to sit out a camp than miss the whole season or longer.

Forbidden City
I've never been to the Forbidden City.
Though I have been to a replica of it! If I ever make it to China of course this is one site I would hope to see, among many others. However, it seems as if the Forbidden City is getting less and less forbidding, at least according to this video footage ! (couldn't find the embed code.) So if I do ever make it to the Forbidden City, at least I know I can also get some modern day niceties as well!

lost M*A*S*H set
I've never been to see the lost M*A*S*H set.
I saw on TV that you can actually hike to an old set from the television series M*A*S*H. I did not know that the series had been shot in Malibu Creek State Park in California. And now adventurous hikers can make their way back to see pieces of the set. All that is left is a burned out Army Jeep and ambulance, left from a brush fire that was incorporated into the final episode. However, a couple of M*A*S*H lovers have placed a replica of the iconic "fingerpost" at the locale. There has been talk about adding more to the area to commemorate the beloved series.

Mens Blog Talk
I've never been to Mens Blog Talk.
I just found out about this website, which I think will be a great place for guys to drop in and find out the answers to all the questions they have about products. Ok, maybe not all the questions, but they can find out from guys who have used a certain product whether it gave what was promised. It basically gives an overview of a product and then gives "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" counts from guys who have voted on the products. Whether you are questioning buying a product like P90X or have questions about extenze side effects, the Mens Blog Talk seems like a place to find out what the guys think.

stone massage
I've never been to get a stone massage.
I have heard that the stone massage is considered therapeutic due to the minerals found in the stones from the sea. Stones of different sizes, weights, shapes and even colors are used. For example, a large weighty stone is thought to be ideal for the stomach area. Many people like to find their own stones for use in massage.

prescription glasses
I've never been to get prescription glasses.
Both my husband and my daughter are supposed to wear glasses. I have yet to need them, but I feel like with all the reading I do on the computer, it won't be too long until I need some. Of course, I will look for the best prices available when the time comes. I have no idea what style I would choose, but I know price would be a huge factor. Finding discount prescription glasses would be ideal.

ride in a Ferrari
I've never been to ride in a Ferrari.
On June 12, 2011, The Classy Chassis Car Show at Reliant Stadium will offer a "Ride & Drive" from 9-4 in the parking lot of Reliant Stadium. For a minimum donation of $30 to the Shriners' Hospital, you could get a ride in a Ferrari, Lamborghini, or an Aston Martin. I have to say, that would be fun for a lot of folks. I don't know which car I would choose, but if they would have Tom Selleck as the Ferrari driver….

buy insurance online
I've never been to buy insurance online.
If we are not careful though, we are going to be in some really deep debt due to our lack of insurance. I am still recovering from a recent foot surgery. And I just found out that my daughter sprained her arm at church camp. Thankfully it is not broken and the camp's insurance covered the cost of the x-rays. But we are going to have to find somewhere to get some affordable insurance. Thankfully there are places online where we can get some free quotes!

indoor skydiving
I've never been indoor skydiving.
I saw a piece on tv about indoor skydiving. This is basically a wind tunnel driven by a huge fan. Students go through a short training session and then are brought in for about three minutes of "flying" time. This is an activity that is open to all ages and abilities. It sounds like a great activity for families with kids of all ages. It would be a really cool way to spend some family time together and would likely be a great memory for families who try this new activity.

I had never been to Who Knew? before.
I found this fun site today. It is filled with interesting tidbits of information. For example, the first Friday in June is National Donut Day. You can even find out how donuts came about. I also learned about some accidental inventions. Nothing like the best acne treatment, but more like the telephone and penicillin!

America's Got Talent
I've never been to America's Got Talent.
I have seen the show some on television. There are some pretty cool acts and there are some pretty scary/gruesome acts. And there are some there that seem to think they have more talent than they exhibit on stage! We have enjoyed watching some of the acts together as a family. Others I just turn away from. At least it is a way for me to pass the time while recuperating! And it is a program we can all agree on as a family.

I've never been to an acne treatment.
I never had much of a problem with acne growing up, so I guess I never really had to deal much with how to treat acne. I would even say that I have as much or more trouble with acne now as a middle aged woman than I did as a teen. I guess once I get the other side of this state of hormonal fluctuation I will be able to maintain acne free skin.

Miami Zoo
I've never been to the Miami Zoo.
I did see some animals from the Miami Zoo on the Early Show today. One of the zoo handlers brought in a three week old baby leopard. Very cute. But of course he stressed how big they get and that they are indeed wild animals and not pets. Then he brought out a four week old white tiger. Super cute! She even drank out of a bottle! They stated how much the white tiger population in the wild has gone down over this century. I also learned that the white tiger is not another species of tiger but just a mutation of genes. I think tigers are beautiful creatures, both white and the traditional coloring.

pre-op
I had never been to pre-op before.
Yesterday I was doing ok before my surgery. Until I went into the pre-op. It was sort of like an ER with several beds and pull around curtains. Everyone was nice enough, but I still got really nervous. All went well and now I am home recouping. I am remembering my exercises, my vitamins, my ice therapy and my boot. I need a little more rest but following all instructions I am hoping to be back on my feet again soon!

I had no idea that Houston offers a contiguous system of bike trails totaling 20 miles, though it appears that some may still be under construction. I hope to be able to get up to these trails soon!

But I am guessing that with my surgery and not being able to exercise, I will become interested in finding out some of the best fat burners and diet pills! I am scheduled for foot surgery in the morning. I had planned to get up early and work out before I had to be there. But come to find out, I cannot eat or even have water in the morning (after midnight actually.) Which means I can't go to spin class or to swim before the surgery. I can't come in dehydrated! And of course after surgery there won't be any exercise for a time. I guess I better find Lipofuze or some other fat burner to use in the mean time! Hopefully I won't gain too much weight.

This year's affair takes place in Shanghai, China. There are pavilions of each country represented at the Expo, allowing visitors a glimpse into the way others around the world live. The city has prepared for thousands of visitors, upgrading sidewalks and even expanding its subway system, adding stops to service the fair. Included in the over 200 pavilions are Switzerland's resembling a map with a rooftop chairlift, Macau resembling a walk through bunny, and the United Arab Emirates portrayed as a sand dune.

And according to some reports, this may be the best time for tourists to visit what can be called the world's last frontier. There are not many expeditions available to tourists to Antarctica because the continent has been mostly used strictly for scientific endeavors. And now, new rules are being put in place to prevent many of the problems invasion by tourists can bring. There is a call for limiting the amount of tourist ships allowed, using only ships with fortified hulls, and a ban on those that use heavy oil. There is one ship being built, the Le Boreal, that will hold 199 passengers, and has an indoor heated pool, steam rooms and private balconies.
