Din Tai Fung Dumpling House

I've never been to Din Tai Fung Dumpling House.

There is a dumpling house in Taiwan that I saw on tv yesterday; I think this is the one. This is a popular place, so much so that there is always a line out the door. But they have come up with a great solution. While you wait you peruse the menu and place your order. This means that by the time you are seated, your order is ready. You are seated just moments before your food is ready and served!

skydiving

I've never been skydiving.

I have always wanted to go skydiving but since the age limit is 18 I have never been allowed to go. Two of my best friends also want to go skydiving but they have the same problem I do - they aren't old enough. All three of us have birthdays within a week of each other, so we decided that for our 18th birthday we would all go skydiving together. All we need to do is find the money, print up the party invitations, and wait a couple years, and then we can finally go skydiving!

international distance triathlon

I've never been to an international distance triathlon.

Otherwise known as an Olympic distance. I had entered one but weather conditions made canceling the swim portion imperative. So I ended up doing a biathlon that day. But in just over a month I will (hopefully) finish my first Olympic distance tri. It is local and there will be several of our team members competing. I know I have improved a great deal since the last time I tried this distance. I hope my times reflect that on race day-and that I have no flat tires that day to hinder my time!

editing department

I've never been to an editing department.

But for some years now I have felt like I want to become some kind of editor. Especially for small websites. I did not go to school for it and have only had experience in criticizing websites, business and publications for their typos, misspellings and grammar errors. It really drives me crazy to see anything "professional" or for business letting these things go (I am not speaking of plays-on-words or intentional misspellings for the sake of the business/service.) I think it is very unprofessional and makes you/your business look inane. I don't know if I could really do it, or if it takes any kind of equipment or specialized scanning software or just years of practice, but maybe one day I'll get paid to spot those errors!

Wimberley, TX

I had never been to Wimberley, TX before.

But I just got back from a long weekend there. The town (village) is small and far enough away to bring that feeling of peace and quiet. There is not a whole lot to do here outside of shopping. The town center is filled with a collection of eclectic shops, something for everyone. My husband's favorite was the candy store, mine, the stained glass window shop. There is a Pioneer Town, a cowboy museum, a zip line and the swimming hole and river. There is also a very interesting glass blowing demonstration. Many places are closed on Mondays since their busy times are weekends. But if you want peace and quiet away from it all, Wimberley is a great little place to find it.

teaching swim lessons

I've never been to teach swim lessons.

I recently got my lifeguard certification and my grandmother has asked me to teach my two little cousins how to swim with proper technique this summer. Both of my little cousins love going to the pool. We pack a big bag full of pool toys, water guns, towels, and snacks so we can enjoy a nice long day at the pool. My cousins are very funny with their swim attire. The older of the two must have his snorkel while the younger loves to swim with his flippers. It is very entertaining watching him walk to the edge of the pool and jump in with his flippers on. And both of my cousins refuse to swim without their swim goggles. Now all they have to do is learn to swim and they'll be set!

Narnia

I've never been to Narnia.

At least not in person. I've been many times in my imagination. And spent many times looking/wishing to find a door between our world and theirs....But my latest read has me longing as much as ever to find such a magical world. I am now wanting to read the seven books again, especially to my kids...
