Daslu Sao Paulo

I've never been to Daslu Sao Paulo .

The next stop on the "coolest stores" tour is Brazil's most famous retail jewel. Daslu has moved to new accommodations, which house forty stores and provide a helipad on the roof. You will be greeted by porters at the door and each patron is assigned a "Dasluzete", a shopgirl or maid dressed in a starched white uniform. She will serve you bottomless flutes of Veuve Clicquot or espresso shots. Cross the marble floor by golf cart. One of its most unique features is the fact that much of the store is off limits to men. Because so much space has been allotted to women's clothing and since there are no dressing rooms, shoppers have taken to disrobing next to the clothing rack. In the high tech department, you will find audio systems and Jaguar convertibles. The one of a kind Perspex floor houses rows of vintage toy cars.

I've never been to Moss L.A.

This newest Moss is an eyeful for any shopper or would be shopper. As you enter you will be dazzled by the number of glittering floor to ceiling crystal columns. You will take in the clear Lucite boxes scattered throughout the store, each one encasing the Moss logo. Admire the antique Steinway baby grand piano brought in to celebrate the store's opening. Be blown away by the wooden screens inlaid with images of animal skeletons. Shop with Hollywood celebrities searching for unique ways to furnish their Hollywood homes. Moss L.A. is named one of concierge.com's "twelve coolest stores."

New York Headache Center

I've never been to the New York Headache Center.

As someone who has experienced horrible headaches in the past, I can relate to those patients who are seeking relief from their chronic headaches. Headaches can be triggered by any number of things, including diet, lifestyle, genetic predisposition, even where you live. Because no one person is the same, the doctors at the Headache Center are experts in both traditional and alternative treatments. They treat headaches with medications, nutritional supplements and nerve blocks. They have even been known to use Botox for headaches.

Joe Scruggs Concert

I've not been to a Joe Scruggs concert for about ten years.

Joe is a wonderful children's singer/songwriter. He really captures the essence of childhood in his songs. He sings about the thrills and the downsides of being a kid. I have loved his work for some time now. Years ago, we took the kids to see Joe when he came to perform in our hometown. And I just learned today that he will be performing in a nearby town on November 8.

Digital Frame

I've never been to buy a digital photo frame.

These new digital displays are a really great idea. This is an excellent way to display all the photos from your travels. The digital frame is easy to set up and use. You simply load the memory card and your digital photos are displayed as a slideshow on the LED screen, similar to a computer monitor or TV screen. Even better, you can plug in your speakers to play MP3 or WMA music files to enhance your slideshow.

Blissful Thinking

I had never been to Blissful Thinking blog before.

But tonight I made a nice discovery. This is a very pleasant blog to visit. I like the sharp, sleek presentation of the layout. Her writing is easy and pleasant to read. Each post is thought provoking and almost every entry has an original poem to add to its effectiveness. I also think she is a relation to another fabulous blog writer whom I have been fortunate to have contact with in the cyberworld. This is an overall pleasant blog to visit.

Distributed Proofreaders

I had never been to Distributed Proofreaders before.

This site is in the process of transitioning many works from traditional texts to ebooks. This is a long process which they are trying to pare down by using volunteer proofreaders. Each book can be read a page at a time, allowing it to be finished in a shorter time frame than if one person had to read the whole text. Each page is proofed by a reader, submitted and proofed by another reader. Then it will be submitted through two formatting rounds. Finally the book can then be assembled as an ebook and submitted to the Project Gutenberg archive.

Renaissance Festival School Days

I've never been to the Renaissance Festival School Days.

The Texas Renaissance Festival hosts two school days each year. One is for elementary aged kids and the other is for secondary aged kids. These days are a great value with admission being only $6 per child and chaperon. The school days hours are from 9am to 4 pm and the fair is held rain or shine. I know that depictions of the Middle Ages can sometimes be rather bawdy, but at the school days, this is not the case, so I am told. These days are catered to the kids and educating them (appropriately) about the times. Along with the discounted prices on admission, the rides and games are given special prices as well. These days are open to public, private and homeschooled kids. Parking is still free and you can bring your own lunch.

Mr. Bean's Holiday

I had never been to see Mr. Bean before.

I had never even seen him on television. But I'd heard he was pretty funny and saw that it was rated "G", so we thought we'd give Mr. Bean's Holiday a try.

This was indeed a unique show, especially for ones who have never seen Mr. Bean before. It was rather goofy, though there were some places where I was laughing out loud. I especially enjoyed the scene where Bean is lip synching to make some money.

As we left the show, my daughter said "I've never seen a show like that before."

Hobby Airport is proud to keep this terminal alive as a living monument to they rich history of aviation in the region.

Cosmetology School

I've never been to cosmetology school.

Why, I didn't even know how to spell it properly! But I know there are many people who would love to make it to a great cosmetology school and then begin their career helping people to look their best. In one small town where we used to live, there was a cosmetology school located at the local community college. They were always busy providing discount salon services to the public at discount prices.

It seems that there are many good cosmetology schools available these days. One of the fastest growing in the country is the Regency Cosmetology school. It has a good reputation for turning out graduates with excellent skills, learned by using the most up to date equipment. They in turn contribute to the salon community as well as to their own community.

This looks to be a new blog, and one nicely done. I like the layout, but more than that, I like the "feel" of the blog. I think the title really drew me in. I like the way he is reminiscing about places he's been as well as dreaming of places he would like to go (something I do here regularly.) It was nice to note that some of his family is from the same place that some of my family was from. An interesting connection. He has a nice easy style to read and a very enjoyable blog. I particularly like Trenton Makes the World Takes as I had not heard that before. Maybe one day we will eventually make it to all the places we dream of going.

From Luxor, you can easily visit the Valley of the Kings, temple ruins and the Nile. It makes an excellent base for touring Upper Egypt.

The Great Pyramid

I've never been to The Great Pyramid.

Built over 5,000 years ago as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, it is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. This pyramid is phenomenal when measurements are taken. It is amazing to find how they match many of the Earth's measurements. Some of these things were by Isaac Newton when doing research for the Law of Gravity. The concave structure of the sides of they pyramids was discovered in 1940 when a pilot took aerial photos of the pyramid. The pyramid would have to have great support to hold up its weight. It has been found that the pyramid "just happens" to be built over solid granite mountain. The pyramid is even visible from the moon.

Scholastic.com

I've not been to Scholastic.com this school year.

Each school year, I love to order books from Scholastic for my kids. It has been great for all of us. We can order a few books for ourselves, or we can get several other homeschool families together to order with. Scholastic has been great about allowing homeschools to order from their products.

There are so many products from which to choose. There are books for every age, from pre-readers up through high schoolers. There are computer games, even games for Nintendo Gameboys. We can order online, or call in with our order. The folks at customer service are always friendly and helpful. They have helped me to solve any problems quickly. A couple of times, the product ordered did not meet our needs. We had no problem returning them.

The books available at Scholastic are some of the best loved and most recommended readers. Scholastic offers most of these as paperback, special editions made for purchase through them. This allows them to offer them at very affordable prices.

When the kids were little, walking to the mailbox was a good way to get out of the house. As they got a little older, they thought it was cool for me to let them go to the mailbox by themselves. New Zealand

I've never been to New Zealand.

I’ve only seen New Zealand in pictures and movies. It looks like a beautiful, lush country, maybe one of the last pristine places on earth.

New Zealand is known as the "youngest country on earth" because it was the last landmass discovered. There is much to see and do in New Zealand. Beaches, bays and forests in subtropical Northland, harbors, marine activities and urban life in Auckland, Coromandel provides beach life, gold rush history and creative artistry. Eastland is the first place the sun touches and the Maori culture thrives. Hawke’s Bay is the place for premium wines, Art Deco architecture and fabulous beaches. Wellington is about the stage, bringing you art, theater and music.

The West Coast is less populous and allows you to trace the steps of the hunters, gold prospectors and explorers. Christchurch provides magnificent views of mountains, rivers and plains. Queenstown is famed for its alpine scenery. In Southland you will encounter rare animals.

I might just decide to buy some property new zealand and move on over!

Make Money by Loaning Money

I have never been to make money by loaning out money.

I had never even heard of it before today! But there is a fairly new company which makes just such a claim. This Earn by Loaning company states that you can Gain Cash from your loan. They earn money for you by borrowing money from you! Earn by Loaning does this by "using the advantages of a private contractually obligated loan using a set repayment rate." They do it this way so that you will in turn have legal recourse. The return on the loan is based on a 120 loan period. The percentage of return is broken down as follows:

Plan 1- $100.00 - $500.00 ...... 40% return
Plan 2 - $501.00 - $1000.00 ...... 45% return
Plan 3 - $1001.00 - $10000.00 ...... 50% return

(as quoted on the site)

Be sure and read carefully through the rules to find out how you can make money by loaning money.

Last week I ordered the award medals for the summer bible reading program at our church.
