lion tacos

I've never been to eat lion tacos.

There is a restaurant in Arizona that prides itself on serving exotic tacos. They have served things like python, rattlesnake, frog legs, alligator, kangaroo, elk, and turtle. But when they decided to serve lion tacos, there was a big up-roar. There have even been threats to the safety of restaurant workers. Because of the threats, the lion tacos have been suspended from the menu. Who knows what they will be serving in the future.

care package cookie exchange

I've never been to a care package cookie exchange.

This is for parents whose kids are in college. It is a way for "empty nest" parents to get together and also a way to encourage the kids. Parents get together one evening, each family bringing about three dozen cookies. Include families from your kid's circle of friends. Have some snacks on hand for the adults to nibble before or while putting together the care packages. Bring ziplock baggies and/or plastic containers to hold the cookies. Have everyone sign cards for the kids (they will love getting notes from their own parents and siblings but also from their friends' parents and siblings too!) Consider taking photos to enclose as well. Then package everything up and send the boxes to those away at college. Soon, you'll be hearing those "thank-yous" back from the happy recipients!

Packing For Montana

I've never been to Montana to ski before.

But when I found out that I was going to get a chance to, I was excited and couldn't wait to get packed and get on the plane. The first thing I packed was long underwear and plenty of sweaters. I also had to pack my best acne treatment and plenty of shower supplies, since I knew I would be sweating and working hard on the slopes every day. Finally, I packed tons of socks and undershirts, because the only way to really defeat the cold way up north is to layer, layer, and layer some more.  Finally, I was ready for the beautiful mountains.

body piercing

I've never been to get a body piercing.

I really don't understand the fascination. I was talking to my kids and their friends tonight about the latest trends in body piercing. They were telling me about some of the wildest ones they've seen. My son said one boy wanted some face piercings to hang a chain on. One girl said that now days girls are getting body piercings on the back and then tying ribbons to look like the back of a corset dress. I will be glad when these societal fads are gone!

Venus Williams

I've never been to see Venus Williams play tennis.

After one of her latest dresses, the Alice in Wonderland dress, I am wondering myself if some folks go to watch her just to see what she'll be wearing next! After looking through some online photos of her tennis attire I can see that she is intent on making a statement. And when you are
wearing clothes like that, I wonder if she has to worry much about how her face and skin look. Or maybe she does use one of the best acne products around. Since everyone will be looking at her attire, I guess she likes all the attention. At any rate, watching one of her tennis matches would definitely be something....

flu shot

I've never been to get a flu shot.

I know a lot of people who get one every year. I hear it is highly recommended. I just read that it is even recommended for kids to get a flu shot every year. There are several guidelines to keep in mind when getting kids a flu shot. But the article says that getting kids a flu shot is a good way to keep kids healthy during flu season.

tobacco shopping

I've never been tobacco shopping.

I just don't like all the things associated with tobacco. But it seems as if my cousin is into tobacco. At least his wife got him a pipe for Christmas. I didn't even really know he smoked, or if he didn't that he wanted to! Anyway, if I was tobacco shopping, I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference between davidoff or cigarillos. I guess I'd be able to tell what a pipe is...at any rate, I guess one day my cousin will show off his new pipe.

Men's Warehouse

I've never been to Men's Warehouse.

It is a suit store that my husband took my son to get fitted for a new suit. Men's Warehouse guarantees you'll look good! They have an assortment of every thing a man needs-suits, shirts, ties, shoes and accessories including tie clips, handkerchiefs, and cuff links. While we were not able to get all the accessories, I bet my son looks sharp in his new suit.

furniture liquidation

I've never been to a furniture liquidation.

A local store is closing and is having their final liquidation. I had thought of going down there to see what all they've got (left.) Some of our young couple friends went and found some good deals. As for me, I would not mind replacing our twenty year old couch. Even if I didn't buy, I wouldn't mind looking through the assortment of couches, chairs and modern coffee tables and seeing just how much they have slashed their prices.

Koala Chiropractic

I had never been to Koala Chiropractic.

But yesterday I decided the ankle pain I've been having for two months needed some checking out.
While I love the chiropractor I've used in the past, I wanted to get this fixed up quickly and Koala works with many athletes in our area, seeming to get them where they want to be as soon as possible. I didn't know what I was getting myself in to! They want to see me every day this week and three times next week. Then we'll see how to progress after that. I guess with treatments every day and lots of aggressive treatment each time, things will heal quicker than a once a week visit.

Nursery at TyTy

I've never been to the nursery at TyTy.

They offer many different varieties of trees for purchase, available online. There are many that I'd be interested in. They have pecan trees, berry bushes, shrubs and plants, weeping willow trees, and others that seem to grow well in our state.

ambulance

I've never been in an ambulance.

Last month we took our daughter to the ER and not only did we take her, we called the ambulance to take her, since it was a head and neck injury. Come to find out, the ambulance ride costs nearly three times as much as the ER visit! Thankfully the hospital provides payment options. I sure wish the ambulance company did too!

eighteenth birthday gift for my child

I've never been to buy my child an eighteenth birthday gift.

Our son turns eighteen this week! We have been struggling over what to get him for his birthday. He really doesn't need anything and doesn't even really want much. So it's been tough to decide what to get him. There are lots of great ideas: electronics-he has most of them, a car-he bought himself one, netbooks-we will get him one for graduation, luggage-likely graduation as well. As of now, I think we have settled on getting him a suit.

Fieldhouse USA

I've never been to Fieldhouse USA.

It looks like this sports facility in Frisco, TX is open to many kinds of sports activities, ranging from camps, tournaments and birthday parties to youth leagues, adult leagues and dodgeball leagues. It looks like they serve a variety of athletes including basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse and soccer. It looks like a great place for all ages to have fun.

infant baptism

I've never been to an infant baptism.

Since our church does not baptize infants, I've never seen one performed nor have I ever been invited to one. I know that for families who have their babies baptized, it is a very important time for them. I am sure that when there is a baptism to be performed, Baptism invitations are something that families send out to invite others to share in the important occasion.
