MLA Handbook Online

I've never been to the MLA handbook online before.

Here you can find all the information you need to properly document all works cited. I was just talking with my sister, an English teacher, about this. She wanted to be sure to remind me that this is not just a good idea the teacher had, but it is required. You just do not take someone else's work and cite it without giving proper credit. It is imperative that all students in secondary and college learn the proper way to give credit in papers. The MLA handbook online is the resource with all of the approved information.

OutfittersWarehouse.com

I've never been to OutfittersWarehouse.com before.

This is a great place to check for all the gear we need before our next camping trip. We have never used a canvas tent before. We have pretty much gotten comfortable renting cabins now. At Outfitters Warehouse there is so much more available. Here you can check out the information library and learn about the product variety and the discount prices.

Write It, Cite It

I had never been to Write It, Cite It before.

My son started public school this year and is making very poor grades on his essays. The teacher has said nothing except "documentation" but never explained what she meant by that. We guess she thinks that all the kids already know what to do. My son is learning by trial by error. Today, his biology teacher sent a packet home with information for a project. She reminded the students to visit the Write It, Cite It page available on the school district library site. The site is a great source of everything the kids need to know to document works properly. We had no idea about this, but know that it will prove invaluable to my son. We hope armed with this new information, his essay grades will improve.

Buying Real Estate

I've never been to buy real estate.

But one of these days my husband and I would like to have some property of our own, outside of the city. Maybe everyone dreams of this, I don't know. But I know that as more and more building goes on around our city, we cannot wait to move out of all of the hustle and bustle.

Spinning 101

I had never been to a spinning class before.

But over the last ten days, I have attended four. We have had a new YMCA go in near us. They are offering beginning spin classes-Spinning 101. This is a fun new class and perfect for beginners. They have started at the very beginning, teaching us about the bike, how to adjust the bike, how to get through and progress through the class. The teachers have been very patient and upbeat and helpful in getting all us newbie spinners started. Maybe one day I will be able to advance to the interval ride.

Cash Advance Payday Loan

I've never been to get a cash advance payday loan.

Although many people opt to use cash advances for loans, it is something to take seriously and use carefully and only on occasion. Many people do choose to use cash advances to get through rough spots between paychecks. They may use them to help cover anything from unexpected medical bills to buying holiday gifts. Cash advances are paid back upon receipt of your next paycheck. They can very easy to obtain online.

Texas Renaissance Festival School Day

I've never been to the Texas Renaissance Festival School Day before.

We attended yesterday for a wonderful day of jousting, sword play and merriment all straight out of the middle ages. As soon as we walked in the gate, we were met by the Sheriff of Nottingham. My nephew had on a FBI sweater and the Sheriff asked him if he would come help him with a "little problem" he was having-as he discreetly pointed out Robin Hood and his Merry men.

Top on our list were attending sword school and the jousting tournament. Both of these were highlights on all of our lists. As we went along we got to see artillery demonstrations, meet the court jester, talk with knights and visit the executioners block. One of our group even met William Shakespeare, who did some time traveling to be at the Ren Fair during King Henry VIII's heyday.

My nephews drew much attention from the folks from the middle ages dressed in their knight costumes . Many asked them how the Crusades were going. My youngest nephew was dressed in the same colors as the Spanish knight (who was defeated in the jousting tournament by the English knight.)

As the actors are all adept at staying in character, we had a great day learning about the Medieval Times just by "living" them for the day. We all left with wonderful memories of our day traveling back to the Middle Ages.

Madrid

I've never been to Madrid.

As Spain's largest city and the capital city, there is much to see and do in Madrid.

There are many museums to take in. One not to miss museum is the Museo del Prado. Also visit the Reina Sofia National Museum and Art Center, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art, the National Archeology Museum and the Museo do America.

Places of interest include the Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, the heart of the city Puerta del Sol, Catedral de la Almudena and the Atocha RENFE where you will see the inside palm garden and turtle pond-and it's free!

Hotels in Madrid are easier than ever to find, whether you are looking for a three star, four star or five star Madrid accommodation . You can even get hotel news at the Hotel Club Travel Blog.

Hammond House

I've never been to the Hammond House .

If you have ever wanted to stay in a castle, this may be your opportunity. Located in Calvert, Texas, this newly renovated castle-like home/former jail/almost museum/now-hotel just may be one of the most unique bed and breakfasts around. Hammond House has undergone a long era of renovations and is listed in the National Register and is a Texas Historic Landmark. Upcoming events include a Victorian Tea and the Christmas Homes Tour.

St. Augustine, FL

I've never been to St. Augustine, Fl.

There is much to do in this "oldest city in the nation." The district of San Marco Avenue is filled with interesting shops and attractions, including book shops, art galleries, and other unique shops. But some of the most exciting Events in St. Augustine take place on the last Saturday night of the month at the "Uptown Saturday Night". Each month, the last Saturday from 5pm to 9pm, San Marco Avenue turns into a street party-like atmosphere. And a short walk away, along the "oldest street in America", Aviles Street also joins into the Uptown party atmosphere. There is live music, tons of shopping for one of a kind gifts, book signings by local authors and exhibits by local artists, and free wine and refreshments. The Mission of Nombre de Dios provides free parking to the event and there is no cost to participate.

Be sure and schedule your days to attend the next Uptown Saturday Nights on October 27 and November 24. There may be no better shopping experience to be found. You can shop non-stop for antiques, rare books, even Spanish Treasure. These Uptown Saturday Nights are just in time to help you really enjoy your holiday shopping.

Longchamp

I've never been to Longchamp .

The last on the list of the twelve coolest stores, Longchamp is eyecandy for the weary shopper. Located in New York, this 100th store in the famous chain has its own nickname-"La Maison Unique". Heatherwick Studios, based in London and noted for its offbeat work, is the genius behind the seemingly flowing steel ribbon. It seems as if the steel flows over the walls, over the stairs and right out the front windows and onto the sidewalk.

Australian Holiday

I've never been on an Australian holiday.

There is so much to see and do in Australia. There are the major must see attractions, like the Sydney Opera House and Harbour, the Rocks, and the Central Business District. Take a city bus tour, or a cycling tour, or even a helicopter tour. Go sailing, catch the museums and zoos. Not to miss is the Queen Victoria Building.

Melbourne offers shopping, museums, even a Chinatown. Here you will find Captain Cook's cottage. Stroll through the Royal Gardens. Be sure to take in Federation Square and the Australian Grand Prix.

And then off to Brisbane. Take a city tour to see the beautiful scenery. View the historic homes and locations within the city. South Bank and Town Hall remain popular. Many families love to visit Dreamworld while in town.

Booking hotels for an Australian holiday just got easier. At cheaperthanhotels you can always find great last minute deals for Sydney Hotels , Melbourne Hotels and Brisbane Hotels . Many of these include great free offers, such as a free meal and use of amenities.

Dover Street Market

I've never been to Dover Street Market .

This is not your everyday British market. Inside you will find controlled chaos. The display racks include dresser drawers haphazardly stacked, with shirts folded inside. You will find accessories displayed in a manner resembling a frenzied shop-a-thon. There is a metal shed housing t-shirts. The dressing rooms may be the highlight of the shopping here. For example, one room is designed as a bird cage, enclosed with red velvet curtains. The men's dressing room is a repurposed Port-a-Potty, painted black.

My Neighbor's Wedding

I've never been to my neighbor's wedding.

My neighbors have decided to get married, after being together for about seven years now. They have spent this last week scurrying to purchase everything they need. They have bought dresses, suits, shoes, hair styling services, veils, a flower girl basket, airplane tickets, hotel reservations, and yes, wedding bands. They leave this weekend for a family wedding at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas.

Apartment

I've never been to Apartment .

This uber-hip boutique can be visited in Berlin. At street level, it may look as if you have stumbled upon a deserted office building. Inside you will find fluorescent lights and linoleum floors. If you look closely, you will see the projection playing from the cellar showing you where the real action is. Upon entering, take the stairwell in the back of the building to the crypt below packed with clothes, some even displayed on a large wooden table. You will find designers such as Rick Owens, Raf Simons and Undercover sold here.

Scottsdale

I've never been to Scottsdale, AZ.

This desert town, named after Major Winfield Scott, has a beauty and attraction all its own. Divided into three sections, there is something for everyone in Scottsdale. In Old Town Scottsdale you will find the draw of the Old West. You will find Western wear stores, you can attend the Parada del Sol Parade. Here you can even catch the San Francisco Giants in Spring Training.

McCormick Ranch and North Scottsdale offer upscale Scottsdale real estate for those who are so inclined. McCormick Ranch is rich in history and houses the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, as well as a golf club and the Hyatt Regency.

In North Scottsdale you can enjoy the natural landscape while living in the lap of luxury. Homes are in the multi-million dollar range, and shopping is an experience all its own.

Normann Copenhagen

I've never been to Normann Copenhagen .

This stark white interior is reminiscent of the Norwegian winter, a refreshing simplistic style. Here shoppers are treated to a beautiful building housing cool clothing and housing accessories. The staircase, columns and arches lend to the feel of the store. Here you can find wonderful treats like the bedside water carafe and the hourglass shaped coin bank. This is the place for clothing, housewares and accessories from Denmark's most promising upcoming talent.

Hannah Montana

I've never been to see Hannah Montana.

I've only seen her TV show once, and only for about ten minutes. But my daughter has talked quite a bit about her. I read recently about the rage to get tickets to her new concert tour. She seems to be causing quite a stir about the nation. It seems as if Hannah Montana tickets are selling like hot cakes these days! If I could get my hands on a few, I know my daughter would be sky high.

Louis Vuitton

I've never been to Louis Vuitton .

This is must stop shopping located in France at the corner of the corner of Champs-Élysées and Avenue George V. Here you will find the classic floral monogram and the Damier checkerboard to be the running theme throughout the store. Upon entering the foyer you will see thin metal sheets draped from ceiling to floor to create a rainlike effect. Each department is encircled with thin metal cutout partitions, sporting the floral motif. An express elevator will take you to the art gallery on the top floor. This elevator is swathed in black velvet to make it sound and stimuli proof.

Comme des Garçons, New York City

I've never been to Comme des Garçons, New York City .

This clothing boutique is located in west Chelsea amid art galleries and re-purposed warehouses. And you may easily miss this shop if you are not careful, as there is no sign pointing out the entrance. The entrance does suggest something out of the ordinary is here, with its futuristic look. Upon entering, you walk through an aluminum tunnel and then an egg shaped door. The walkway is lined with red lights, giving you the feel of a spaceship.

Paul Smith

I've never been to Paul Smith .

Located in L.A. on the famed Melrose Avenue, this is one store you are sure not to miss. Among the other glass fronted stores, sits this Hot Pink Cube called Paul Smith. There are no details to break up the sight, save for a door and one long rectangular window. Paul Smith is proud of the unity noticed throughout the store. Inside it is set up like a movie set, with each section having a particular focus.

Loveless

I've never been to Loveless .

This is the gotta see shopping experience in Tokyo. This boutique boasts a dual personality. When you enter Loveless you will see the Brilliant Side which is light and playful. This Brilliant Side occupies the ground and upper floors. You will find large mirrors and chandeliers festooned with glass fruit. As you progress toward the stairs and the Dark Side, you will enter a stairwell, tunnel and basement. This resembles a catacomb dripping with a rusty substance. This cryptic floor is decorated with candelabras and is painted with a slick ebony paint.

Walk into their boutique and look up to see everything that should be on the floor. Lairesse Apotheek

I've never been to Lairesse Apotheek .

This is one pharmacy that I will not wait to get sick to visit. You will find this unique pharmacy in Amsterdam's museum quarter in an old bank boasting a one of a kind architecture. Dutch architectures Concrete have made this pharmacy the place to go, even if you are well. Here you will find the shelves glowing green, while the floor is printed with photos of Ginkgo leaves. The outward facing drawers contain the over the counter products, while the inward facing drawers house the prescription medications, accessible only by the pharmacists. Perhaps the most stunning visual, enhancing the surreal effect given by the building, is the tree that appears to be growing from the floor into the ceiling, passing through the curved cement counter.

United Kingdom Holiday

I've never been on a United Kingdom holiday.

I always watch the PBS travel shows on Europe. My daughter said last week how very cool it would be to get to go see all those things. I agree. I would love to be able to take a United Kingdom holiday. Traveling all over, taking in the sights, the history, the way of life.

In London one can see the magnificent buildings of Greenwich. Head to the Old Royal Observatory to see the original home of Greenwich Mean Time. Visit Kew Gardens, see chic Notting Hill, the Thames River, Buckingham Palace, London Tower, and don't forget The West End.

Edinburgh is home to both the historic, medieval Old Town and the neo-classical Georgian Town. Walk the Royal Mile in the footsteps of Queen Mary and Robert Louis Stevenson. Edinburgh Castle is a dominant feature, and don't miss seeing the crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny. Modern, not-to-be-missed activities include museums, art galleries and festivals, the Whiskey Experience and ghost tours.

Glasgow boasts an energy all its own. It is filled with year round activities and festivals. There are plenty of museums, art galleries, performing arts and festivals. Each year brings the International Jazz Festival and the Celtic Connections winter Celtic celebration.

It looks like I need to start making arrangements for London Hotels , Edinburgh Hotels , and Glasgow Hotels .
