care package cookie exchange

I've never been to a care package cookie exchange.

This is for parents whose kids are in college. It is a way for "empty nest" parents to get together and also a way to encourage the kids. Parents get together one evening, each family bringing about three dozen cookies. Include families from your kid's circle of friends. Have some snacks on hand for the adults to nibble before or while putting together the care packages. Bring ziplock baggies and/or plastic containers to hold the cookies. Have everyone sign cards for the kids (they will love getting notes from their own parents and siblings but also from their friends' parents and siblings too!) Consider taking photos to enclose as well. Then package everything up and send the boxes to those away at college. Soon, you'll be hearing those "thank-yous" back from the happy recipients!

That I'd like to see.
