Anne Frank on stage

I've never been to see Anne Frank on stage.

This past weekend, I was able to see a production at a local junior high. I must say that I was impressed with the young cast. To see their poise throughout such a show was really a treat. They did a really nice job of putting on the show. I like how some of the emotion was heightened during the show, both by the small theater and the use of speakers and pre-recordings. I enjoyed the show, as much as one can enjoy such a show, and perhaps one day will see these kids perform again.

That I'd like to see.

Anne Frank House

I've never been to The Anne Frank House.

This museum is located in the heart of Amsterdam. It is the house that was used by the Frank family while they were in hiding. It now houses many writings and artifacts from Anne Frank and others who were in hiding, as well as collections from those who helped them. You can see facsimiles of Anne's diary writings, as the originals are being kept for future generations. A purse that Otto brought out of the camp with him is also on display. You can learn about the business he ran as well. You can also view photographs and letters of the family.

There is another current exhibit on display called Free2Choose. It appears to be an interactive exhibit, exploring the freedoms we have and how these at times conflict with other humans and democratic societies. This display is an effort to explore the boundaries of those freedoms.

That I'd like to see.
