I've never been to Mauritius.
This once uninhabited island in the Indian Ocean is best known for being the home of the now extinct Dodo Bird. Now in a wooded corner of this island, the Echo Parakeet has been spared the demise of the Dodo. For two decades, a conservation program has been going on to save the parakeets. In the 1980's there were only about ten Echo Parakeets in existence. Today, the number stands at 320.
That I'd like to see.
