I didn't even know there was a REAL hotel California. But my daughter told me to write about it, and sure enough, we found one. It is located near Stanford University. There is even a free shuttle to take you over to the university. Room rates start around $95 with specials for seven night or longer stays and December specials. There is a complimentary continental breakfast with pastries, fruit and coffee each morning. Or you may choose to make a purchase in the on site bakery. You can plan your stay at the hotel California.
