I've never been to the Congress Street Bridge in Austin, TX.
There each evening at sunset during the spring and summer, you can see close to one million bats in flight. They leave their beloved home, the Congress Street Bridge, to fly out in search of food. I have seen a bat flight similar to this out near Johnson City, TX, so I know that this can be an amazing sight to see. These bats can eat from 10,000-30,000 pounds of insects.
Some tips for viewing this event are: arrive early, bring a blanket and perhaps an umbrella (no, not for rain...), don't touch any bats. If you are driving through at this time, please take caution. Late summer is one of the best times to catch the viewing of this sight.
That I'd like to see.
